Vice President Kamala Harris’s personal physician released her medical report on Oct. 12.
Citing Harris’s latest medical exam in April, Dr. Joshua Simmons wrote in his letter released on Oct. 12 that the 59-year-old Democrat is overall in good health.
Simmons noted in his letter, with permission from Harris, that she has seasonal allergies and urticaria, a skin condition commonly known as hives that shows up as raised, itchy red bumps on the skin.
According to Simmons, Harris has been managing her allergies with over-the-counter allergy medication and for the past three years has been on allergy immune therapy. The symptoms have since reduced “dramatically,” to the point that she no longer needs regular medication, her doctor noted.
Simmons wrote that Harris maintains “a healthy, active lifestyle” that includes daily aerobic exercise and strength training. She does not use tobacco and drinks alcohol only “in moderation.” He concluded that “Vice President Harris remains in excellent health.”
