Rollover crash near Todos Santos leaves one man injured

National Guard and paramedics respond; investigation underway

A rollover crash along the Pescadero–Todos Santos highway injured one man Friday around midday, prompting a response from emergency crews and federal highway authorities, according to officials at the scene.

The incident occurred near mile marker 57+700, where responders found a gray 2016 Toyota Hilux pickup truck overturned off the federal roadway. The driver, identified as Feliciano, a construction worker estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old, was traveling toward Todos Santos when the crash occurred.

Paramedics with Saint Judes emergency services treated the man at the scene for multiple contusions and a suspected fracture to his left forearm. He was later transported to the Todos Santos Health Center for further medical evaluation. His condition was not immediately disclosed.

Authorities also spoke with Ángel Mateo, 25, who reported witnessing the pickup traveling at excessive speed moments before the crash. Mateo said he slowed his own vehicle after noticing the driver losing control, but the pickup struck the front-left side of his blue 2025 Nissan Versa, which was not displaying license plates, before veering off the road and overturning.

After the collision, Mateo pulled over and contacted emergency services, telling officers he would assume responsibility for the damage to his vehicle.

Personnel from Mexico’s National Guard Highway Division later arrived to secure the scene and document the incident. The Todos Santos public prosecutor’s office was notified and ordered the activation of the first responder protocol, with follow-up investigations assigned to federal highway authorities.

Officials have not indicated whether charges will be filed, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
