Canadian Airlines Porter and Air Transat Add New Flights to Los Cabos

Los Cabos International Airport outlined a slate of expansion plans and new air service during its 2026 Advisory Commission meeting, underscoring the destination’s growing role as one of Mexico’s leading international travel hubs.

Airport officials said seven new domestic and international routes have been confirmed for 2026, along with the arrival of two Canadian carriers: Porter Airlines and Air Transat.

Porter is set to begin winter service linking Los Cabos with Toronto, Edmonton and Ottawa. Air Transat will add service between Los Cabos and Montreal.

The new service builds on recent route additions by Southwest, which has launched flights between Los Cabos and Indianapolis and is scheduled to begin service to Las Vegas on June 4. Volaris is also expected to launch a Los Cabos–Puebla route in June.

Together, the added routes are expected to bring more than 100,000 additional seats to the destination.

The airport also reported progress on infrastructure projects included in Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico’s 2025-2029 Master Development Plan, which calls for 6.991 billion pesos in investment to expand and modernize airport infrastructure in Los Cabos.

A central part of the plan is the expansion, renovation and reconfiguration of Terminal 2, which is expected to grow by 58%. The project includes new boarding gates, expanded waiting areas, additional check-in and baggage claim space, and operational and technology upgrades aimed at improving the passenger experience.

The plan also includes expanding the commercial apron, roadways and parking areas to support the destination’s continued tourism growth.

“Los Cabos continues to strengthen its position as one of Mexico’s most important tourism destinations. At GAP, we remain committed to developing modern, efficient and sustainable infrastructure that supports the destination’s growth, strengthens its international connectivity and continues to improve the travel experience for our passengers,” said Francisco Villaseñor Reyes, director of Los Cabos International Airport.

Los Cabos International Airport currently serves more than 50 domestic and international destinations, making it a key gateway for tourism and economic development in Baja California Sur.
