5:44 AM - An early morning tremor jolted residents of the Capital of the Californias awake. Taking to Facebook, many sought confirmation of the seismic activity they had felt.
The National Seismological Service soon verified a 4.8 magnitude earthquake northeast of Loreto in the Gulf of California.
At 5:17 afternoon, the service reported another quake, this one a magnitude 5.2, occurring 223 miles south of Cabo San Lucas.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of damage from either event.
