SAN JOSÉ DEL CABO, Baja California Sur. — A U.S. tourist was rescued Monday afternoon after emergency crews were dispatched to a beach area along the San José del Cabo tourist corridor, in front of the Royal Solaris Hotel.
According to preliminary information, the call came in at approximately 5:10 p.m., prompting personnel from the San José del Cabo Fire Department to activate an aquatic rescue response.
Firefighters and rescue personnel arrived at the scene and successfully removed the man from the water. The individual was described as a U.S. citizen originally from the state of Georgia.
After being brought to shore, the patient was evaluated by paramedics at the scene. Emergency crews later transferred him by ambulance for further medical attention under a yellow-code status, which indicates that medical care was required but the patient was not classified as a red-code critical emergency.
The response took place in one of the busiest beach zones of the Los Cabos tourist corridor, where emergency personnel frequently remain on alert due to ocean conditions and the high number of visitors.
Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances that led to the rescue.
