Baja California Sur governor survives plane crash

La Paz – A shocking incident occurred last night at La Paz airport when the plane carrying Governor Victor Castro and his staff from a work trip in Mulege suffered a landing gear failure, damaging the aircraft on the runway.

Emergency services swiftly responded as per aviation protocols. Fortunately, Governor Castro and his private secretary, Professor Omar Castro Cota, along with all other passengers, were unharmed and did not require medical transport.

The aircraft involved was not the state's Turbo Commander twin-engine Guaycura with license plate XC BCS but apparently a private aircraft.

The Government of Baja California Sur issued this press release:

The State of Baja California Sur reports that Governor Victor Manuel Castro Cosío, Chief of the Office of the Executive Jesus Omar Castro Cota, and the pilot emerged unharmed after their aircraft experienced a landing gear malfunction on Wednesday night, June 19.

The incident caused a hard landing as they returned from a work trip to Mulege. Emergency services quickly responded and, after thorough evaluations, confirmed that all occupants were safe and injury-free.

Governor Castro Cosio is set to resume his normal activities on Thursday. The government expresses gratitude for the public's concern and solidarity.
