La Paz, Baja California Sur – La Paz International Airport (LAP), operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), is boosting connectivity for Baja California Sur with two brand-new nonstop domestic routes. Starting July 7th, 2025, TAR México will launch direct service to Los Mochis (LMM) and Aguascalientes (AGU).
The new flight schedule will offer:
* Los Mochis: Three flights per week
* Aguascalientes: Four flights per week
These additions significantly expand travel options for residents and visitors alike. La Paz Airport will now offer direct connections to a total of 11 key destinations across Mexico, solidifying its role as a major strategic hub within GAP's network.
"This is a real opportunity to keep putting La Paz on the map," said Sarahí Castro Araiza, Airport Administrator. "By strengthening our network between GAP airports like Aguascalientes and Los Mochis, we're giving travelers a smoother, more accessible journey from start to finish. At GAP, we're all about continuous improvement, listening to our passengers, and meeting their needs."
Growth Drives Investment
The new routes come as La Paz Airport experiences steady growth. Passenger traffic surged 10% overall in May 2025 compared to the same period last year, serving over 514,000 travelers. Domestic traffic specifically saw an 8% increase, highlighting the importance of these new connections.
This positive trend prompted GAP to recently announce a major investment of $1.099 billion pesos (approx. $64.5 million USD) earmarked for the airport's expansion and modernization between 2025 and 2029. This investment will fund projects aimed at delivering a more comfortable and efficient passenger experience.
Enhanced Connections, Broader Benefits
Connecting La Paz to more Mexican cities is expected to significantly boost economic activity, academic exchanges, cultural ties, and tourism flow within the region and across the country.
Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico reaffirmed its commitment to driving Mexico's connectivity forward and offering travelers more and better flight options.
