LORETO, BCS – June 4, 2025 – State prosecutors in Baja California Sur have launched a homicide investigation following the fatal shooting of a man early Wednesday morning in Loreto. The investigation began after State Attorney General's Office (PGJE) received an emergency call around 12:05 AM from municipal Public Safety officers reporting gunfire in the Miramar neighborhood.
PGJE criminal investigators and forensic specialists rushed to the scene. Inside a residence on 7th Street, they discovered the body of an adult male showing injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as a 33-year-old man originally from Ciudad Constitución.
Forensic teams immediately processed the crime scene, meticulously collecting and securing potential evidence under strict chain-of-custody protocols. This evidence has been sent to PGJE laboratories for detailed analysis; findings will be included in the official case file. The victim's body was transported to the forensic medical service (SEMEFO) for an autopsy required by law.
The PGJE confirms its investigative unit is actively pursuing all leads to solve this crime. Their goal is to identify and apprehend those responsible so they can face justice. The investigation remains ongoing.
