PESCADERO, Baja California Sur — A single-vehicle rollover was reported Thursday afternoon on the Pescadero–Elías Calles highway, authorities said, though the driver escaped serious injury.
Just before midday on December 18, local police received calls reporting a crash near mile marker 69, in front of an area known as El Salitral in the Pescadero district. Officers from the Municipal Public Safety Department, including the Preventive Police and Traffic Division, responded and found a white Ford E-250 panel van lying on its side along the shoulder of the road.
Officials have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to overturn.
Firefighters from the Pescadero Volunteer Fire Department were already on scene providing first-aid care to the driver, a 32-year-old man who suffered multiple bruises. After an on-site evaluation, medical personnel concluded he did not need to be transported to a hospital.
Shortly thereafter, agents from the National Guard arrived and took over the traffic collision investigation and related procedures.
With the situation stabilized and no further issues reported, municipal units cleared the scene and resumed regular duty.
