Two men were taken into custody in the city of La Paz in connection with the killing of a man in the coastal town of El Pescadero, a case that fueled public outrage and led residents to block a major highway while demanding justice.
According to authorities, arrest warrants were executed against Brayant “N,” 29, and José Manuel “N,” 47, who are suspected of aggravated homicide, a charge that includes the use of advantage in the commission of the crime.
The incident dates back to the night of December 25, 2025, when residents of El Pescadero reported that a man had been severely beaten by multiple assailants. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries and later died at Salvatierra General Hospital, prompting prosecutors to open a formal homicide investigation.
Following weeks of investigative work, prosecutors gathered sufficient evidence to secure arrest warrants from a Control Judge. The suspects were apprehended on January 28, 2026, in the Los Álamos neighborhood of La Paz, state officials confirmed.
Both men are expected to be formally presented before a judge, who will determine whether they will remain in custody as the case proceeds through the judicial system.
State prosecutors said the arrests reflect ongoing efforts to uphold the rule of law and respond to public demands for accountability in cases of violent crime.
