Los Cabos Launches New ‘Talk of the Town’ Session Focused on Noise Complaints and Community Rules

LOS CABOS, Mexico — The Los Cabos municipal government held a new edition of its monthly “Talk of the Town” program, a community forum designed to address issues of interest to foreign residents living in the region.

The meeting, organized by Nohemí Romero Guzmán through the Municipal Tourism Department and the Office for Foreign Residents, focused this month on noise regulations in residential and tourist areas across Los Cabos.

During the session, local officials explained the role of the municipal offices involved, the maximum noise levels allowed under current regulations, and the process for responding to noise pollution complaints in Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.

Authorities also outlined the steps residents must follow to file a formal complaint. The procedure includes official noise measurements taken at different points of the affected property, along with a report issued by Los Cabos police after responding to the citizen complaint.

Officials said that when a noise complaint is reported, Public Safety officers may visit the location up to three times to issue warnings before administrative penalties are applied if the violation continues.

Romero Guzmán said the “Talk of the Town” program will continue on a monthly basis as part of an effort to strengthen communication between foreign residents and local authorities, while promoting better neighborhood relations and more direct public service.
