Firefighters Battle Blaze at Palo Escopeta Landfill


Emergency crews are currently battling a massive fire that erupted at the Palo Escopeta Landfill in San Jose del Cabo this Tuesday at 9:00 p.m.

Civil Protection and Firefighters are working tirelessly to extinguish the flames.

The San Jose del Cabo Fire Department, supported by 10 tankers, has deployed around 250,000 liters of water in a desperate bid to bring the fire under control.

The blaze at the Palo Escopeta Landfill in San Jose del Cabo has now spread across approximately 23 hectares. Municipal authorities are actively assessing the situation to uncover the cause of the fire.

Efforts are underway to implement crucial preventive and mitigation measures to contain the damage and prevent future incidents.

Intense winds have carried plumes of smoke from the raging Palo Escopeta Landfill fire into areas near the international airport, causing numerous complaints from residents about the foul odor.
