Cabo San Lucas Fire and Rescue Sees Major Jump in Emergency Calls During First Half of 2025

From January through June 2025, the Cabo San Lucas Fire and Rescue Department responded to 2,206 emergency calls—a 16.8% increase compared to the same period last year (1,888 calls). Their service area covers El Tule to Ejido Elías Calles, including downtown Cabo San Lucas and nearby rural communities.

Fire trucks and rescue crews handled 1,147 incidents, while ambulances answered 1,059 calls. Key responses included:

  • 448 fires (homes, brush, trash, and small blazes).
  • 291 traffic crashes (rollovers, vehicles off-road, pedestrian hits, and collisions).
  • 57 animal rescues (pets and wildlife).
  • Ambulances were busiest with 309 traffic accidents, including 27 involving injured motorcyclists.

To keep up with demand, the department added new gear in 2025—like patrol cars, a 4x4 pickup, an ATV, a crew van, and an ambulance—all late-model and in top shape. Backed by the Los Cabos City Council and local leaders, they now run four dispatch hubs across Cabo San Lucas to speed up emergency help.
